Code of Ethics

Shared values in every business relationship

The Vetrya Group has adopted a Code of Ethics that defines the values the Group recognizes, accepts and shares at every level in carrying out its business.

The Code of Ethics

The Vetrya Group has adopted a Code of Ethics that defines the set of values the Group recognizes, accepts and shares, at all levels, in carrying out its business activity.

It was approved by the Board of Directors of Vetrya and of the companies of the Group.

Vetrya believes that business relationships based on transparency and ethical negotiation can help increase the effectiveness of business processes and competitiveness.

With this in mind, and in natural connection with the Group’s Code of Ethics, the need arose to define a Code of Conduct intended to guide the Group’s relationships with suppliers and partners.

Why a Code of Ethics matters

Rules and contracts can describe what a company must do, but they cannot cover every situation. A Code of Ethics fills the gap by setting shared principles that people can apply when they face a new or unclear choice.

For a group that works in many countries, with Clients as varied as telecommunications operators, banks and public bodies, a common reference is especially valuable. It helps colleagues in Italy, the United States, Southeast Asia, Brazil and Spain act with the same standards.

It also gives Clients and partners a clear picture of what to expect from Vetrya, which supports trust from the first conversation.

Approved at the highest level

The fact that the Code was approved by the Board of Directors of Vetrya and of the companies of the Group is significant. It shows that ethics is not delegated to a single department but is a responsibility of those who govern the Group.

Approval at every company level also means that the Code applies equally in each part of the organization, so that no business unit is left outside the common framework.

Transparency and ethical negotiation

Vetrya holds that relationships built on transparency and ethical negotiation make business processes more effective and companies more competitive. This is a practical argument as much as a moral one.

Clear information

Open and accurate communication reduces misunderstanding, shortens negotiations and prevents disputes before they appear.

Fair dealing

When both sides trust that the other will act honestly, agreements are reached sooner and are more likely to last.

Lasting relationships

Partners who are treated fairly stay and invest more in joint work, which supports quality and continuity of service.

The Code of Conduct for suppliers and partners

From the Group’s Code of Ethics a further need emerged: to set out a Code of Conduct to guide relations with suppliers and partners. It extends the values of the Group to the network of companies that work with Vetrya.

Suppliers and partners contribute directly to the services delivered to Clients, from infrastructure and software to marketing and consultancy. Making expectations explicit helps ensure that the same care for quality, legality and fairness is found along the whole chain.

It also protects all parties. A clear code allows suppliers to know what the Group expects and gives the Group a reference for selecting, evaluating and working with them over time.

How the Code connects to everyday work

Values become real through habits. In project teams, the Code supports honest reporting of progress and problems. In sales, it supports accurate descriptions of what a solution can and cannot do. In relations with partners, it supports respect for agreements and for confidentiality.

The Code also complements other parts of the Vetrya approach: the Information Security Management System that protects data, the Social Report that makes the Group’s impact visible and the Vision that places people at the center of technology.

A foundation for growth

As Vetrya grows and works with new Clients and markets, shared values protect its identity. They allow new colleagues to understand quickly how the Group works and what is expected of them, and they allow Clients to rely on consistent behavior wherever they meet the company.

In a sector where technology changes quickly, the principles of the Code remain stable, offering a steady point of reference as products, platforms and methods evolve.

Responsibility at every level

A Code of Ethics only works when everyone feels responsible for it. At Vetrya the values it describes are meant to be recognized, accepted and shared at all levels, from the people who lead the Group to those who write code, design interfaces, manage projects or support Clients every day.

Leaders show the example through their decisions. Managers translate principles into the way teams work. Each colleague applies them in small daily choices, such as how to answer a Client honestly, how to treat confidential information and how to speak about competitors and partners.

When a doubt appears, the Code gives a reference for asking the right questions: is this transparent, is it fair, does it respect the people involved and does it strengthen trust in the Group? Clear answers to these questions help avoid mistakes before they happen.

Effectiveness and competitiveness

The Group links ethical conduct directly to business results. Processes that rely on trust need fewer controls, less repetition and fewer disputes, so they run faster and cost less. Companies known for correct behavior are also chosen more often by Clients, who prefer partners they can depend on for long projects.

In this sense the Code of Ethics is not a limit on competitiveness but one of its sources. It helps Vetrya build a reputation that supports its position among telecommunications operators, media companies, banks, utilities, manufacturers and other Clients.
